Architectural Technologist

The role
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have 5–7 years of post-graduate experience and a strong track record of delivering projects from planning through detailed design, construction and completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable and organised professional who enjoys coordinating multidisciplinary teams, resolving design challenges and producing high-quality construction information.
Key responsibilities
- Develop projects from planning stage through technical design, tender, construction and handover.
- Prepare accurate drawings, specifications, schedules and construction documentation.
- Produce and coordinate detailed BIM models using Revit.
- Ensure designs comply with Irish Building Regulations, planning requirements, fire-safety standards and accessibility requirements.
- Coordinate information from architects, structural and civil engineers, building-services consultants and other specialists.
- Review technical submissions, shop drawings and contractor queries.
- Identify and resolve design coordination and buildability issues.
- Attend design-team, client and site meetings.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare progress or inspection reports.
- Assist with tender documentation, tender assessments and contract administration.
- Manage assigned projects and workloads while meeting agreed deadlines.
- Support junior team members and contribute to the development of office standards.
Skills and experience
- Degree or recognised qualification in Architectural Technology.
- 5–7 years of relevant post-graduate experience, preferably within an Irish architectural or multidisciplinary practice.
- Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, planning procedures and construction methods.
- Experience delivering projects through detailed design and construction stages.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit.
- Good understanding of BIM coordination and information-management processes.
- Strong technical detailing and construction-documentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate consultants and communicate effectively with clients and contractors.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
- High level of written and spoken English.
Desirable experience
- Experience in [residential/commercial/healthcare/education/mixed-use] projects.
- Knowledge of BCAR documentation and compliance processes.
- Experience with NBS specifications, Navisworks, BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Site inspection and contract-administration experience.
- Membership of CIAT or a relevant professional body.
