Windmill Healthcare is currently recruiting an experienced Activities Co Ordinator to join our Care Team at Windmill House Care Centre.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing / Person in Charge, you will work alongside the Activities team to provide a comprehensive programme of recreational, physical, and social activities that enhance the lives of our residents.
The Role - What You'll Do
As Activities Co Ordinator, you will:

Oversee and coordinate a varied and individualised activities programme for residents.

Review resident activity assessments regularly or as needs change.

Identify the needs of groups and individuals and tailor activities to suit them.

Record attendance at all activities, in-house and external, using EpiCare..
-
Encourage resident participation and establish open, supportive relationships.
-
Educate staff to provide resident activities effectively.
-
Plan and implement special events such as outings, garden visits, birthdays, Christmas, and other seasonal celebrations.

Liaise with local libraries and other community services to enrich residents' experiences.

Report any concerns regarding residents to the lead nurse in charge.

Attend in-house and external training to enhance the service provided.

Undertake other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Maintain confidentiality at all times regarding the workings of the home and its residents.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications:
-
Essential: Leaving Certificate.
-
: Level 5 Qualification in Health or Social Care
Desirable Sonas Course Level 1 & 2
Experience:
-
Essential: Experience in a Nursing Home or Social Care environment.

Desirable: Specialist skills in cooking, gardening, knitting, music, arts, and crafts.
Core Aptitudes:

Enjoy working with older people.

Committed, patient, caring, with a sense of humour and a positive outlook.

Highly motivated with excellent communication skills to deliver activities to a diverse group.

Team player, able to liaise effectively with staff, volunteers, and residents.

Creative and able to act as a good role model.

Possess excellent teaching and mentoring skills.
