Head of Finance – Progression to Finance Director
Dublin | Hybrid | €85,000–€95,000 + bonus & benefits
An established Irish technology business is seeking an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or finance professional ready to step into a Head of Finance position.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the finance function and join the Senior Leadership Team, with a clear opportunity to develop towards Finance Director over the next 3–5 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day finance function.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and management reporting.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Manage cash flow, working capital and debtor performance.
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll, banking and financial administration.
- Manage taxation, statutory compliance, audit preparation and financial controls.
- Provide commercial analysis and financial insight to senior management.
- Support departmental budgeting, cost management and profitability improvement.
- Analyse pricing, contract profitability and recurring revenue performance.
- Improve and automate financial processes, systems and reporting.
- Support strategic planning and wider business growth initiatives.
- Manage relationships with auditors, accountants, banks and external advisers.
- Provide oversight of HR administration and support managers with day-to-day people matters.
Experience & Qualifications
We would particularly like to hear from candidates currently working as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant or similar who are looking for broader leadership responsibility.
You should ideally have:
- 5+ years' relevant finance experience.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent — qualified, newly qualified or approaching qualification.
- Strong management accounts, budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Experience managing cash flow, working capital and financial controls.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills.
- Experience working with senior management and non-finance stakeholders.
- Good Excel and financial systems capability.
- Experience within an SME or commercially focused business environment.
- The ambition and capability to progress towards Finance Director.
Technology, SaaS, managed services, professional services, distribution or recurring-revenue experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Salary & Benefits
€85,000–€95,000 + bonus & benefits, with flexibility depending on experience.
Hybrid working: 3 days Dublin office / 2 days home.

The Opportunity

Pay: €85,000.00-€95,000.00 per year
