Overview of role:
UPMC Whitfield are recruiting a Staff Nurse Medical Admissions Unit on an 11-month fixed term contract.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively as a member of the nursing team at UPMC Whitfield Hospital to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to patients and their families.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team to support safe and efficient care delivery.

Work closely with nursing colleagues to support the development of innovative practices and ensure care is delivered in line with evidence-based standards.

Develop and maintain specialist knowledge and clinical competence relevant to the assigned clinical area.

Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a positive team environment and promoting collaborative working practices.

Actively participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in partnership with consultants, the nursing team, multidisciplinary colleagues, patients, and carers.

Take responsibility and accountability for the holistic care of a designated group of patients on a shift-by-shift basis.

Ensure that the highest standards of patient safety, quality of care, and clinical governance are consistently upheld.

Promote and deliver a patient-centred approach to care, acting as an advocate for patients and providing appropriate emotional and psychological support throughout their admission.
Qualifications & Experience:-
Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience in a medical and/or surgical clinical setting (essential).

Relevant experience in a general inpatient ward environment (essential).

Experience in an Emergency Department, critical care or Acute Medicine Unit setting is desirable.

Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and a commitment to learning.
Salary: €37,657.19 - €54,223.51 per annum based on a 37 hour week
Salary: €37,284.34-€53,686.63 (based on a full-time permanent contract, salary will be pro rata for the 11 month fixed-term contract).
