About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Addiction Counsellor to join our team in a residential treatment centre. This role is focused on delivering high-quality, person-centred care that supports individuals in achieving meaningful and sustainable recovery.
We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about people, takes initiative, and can deliver both structured and engaging therapeutic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and contribute to individual care plans
- Deliver 1:1 counselling sessions and facilitate group therapy programmes
- Support clients in developing relapse prevention strategies
- Use a range of therapeutic approaches (e.g. CBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Identify and respond to risk and safeguarding concerns
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the service
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification (Level 7/8 or higher) in:
- Addiction Studies
- Counselling
- Psychology or related field
- Experience working in addiction, mental health, or a related setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to facilitate both individual and group sessions
- Understanding of professional boundaries and safeguarding
Desirable
- Accreditation or working towards accreditation with:
- Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI)
- IACP or equivalent
- Experience working with dual diagnosis
- Interest in holistic or recovery-based approaches

Pay: €42,000.00-€55,000.00 per year
