We are looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistants to join our growing team.
Job Purpose
As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience for our customers both in-store and online. You will provide expert product advice, support daily retail operations, assist with merchandising and stock management, and help maintain the high standards of presentation expected throughout the store.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service
- Deliver outstanding customer service in-store, over the phone, and through online customer enquiries.
- Build strong relationships with customers by offering knowledgeable advice and product recommendations.
- Process sales transactions accurately using electronic point-of-sale systems.
- Assist customers with product selection, sizing, fitting, and technical product information.
Merchandising & Store Presentation
- Ensure the shop floor is fully stocked, well organised, clean, and visually appealing at all times.
- Create and maintain attractive product displays, promotional areas, and point-of-sale materials.
- Support seasonal merchandising initiatives and promotional campaigns.
- Promote loyalty programmes, store cards, and special offers where applicable.
Stock Management
- Receive, check, and process incoming deliveries.
- Replenish stock and ensure accurate stock rotation.
- Create shelf labels and maintain pricing accuracy throughout the store.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory management procedures.
General Store Operations
- Support the day-to-day running of the store.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and company objectives.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and welcoming retail environment.
- Undertake additional duties as required by management.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) systems.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- ECDL or equivalent computer qualification desirable.
- A strong understanding of the equestrian industry is essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekend work on a rotational basis.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop product knowledge.
