ICT Infrastructure Team Lead

The Infrastructure Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operational management, performance, and development of the organization’s ICT infrastructure environment. This role provides hands-on technical leadership to Level 2 Engineers and overseas third-party vendors to ensure infrastructure systems are secure, reliable, and well maintained.
Liaison
This role reports to the Infrastructure and Service Desk Operations Manager but will also need to develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with:
Service Desk Team Lead.
ICT Business Applications Manager and Information Security Architect.
Third-party vendors and network providers.
Property Team for site builds and provisioning.
Project Managers and local site representatives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Infrastructure Team Lead duties include but are not limited to:
Team Leadership Operational Oversight
Lead and mentor Level 2 Infrastructure Engineers, providing technical direction and skills development.
Manage team workload, assign tasks, and ensure timely incident resolution.
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and support ongoing professional development.
Ensure engineering activities comply with Change Management processes.
Infrastructure Management
Support the management and development of the organization’s enterprise architecture.
Ensure availability, capacity, and performance of infrastructure systems.
Oversee proactive monitoring, maintenance, patching, and lifecycle management.
Manage deployment and decommissioning of infrastructure services.
Coordinate with network vendors on performance and troubleshooting.
Support secure and reliable remote and on-site working environments.
Ensure application hosting requirements including storage and backup.
Oversee Intune, device configuration, and application deployment.
Vendor Partner Management
Liaise with external support vendors ensuring SLA compliance.
Support procurement with technical evaluations.
Manage escalations with service providers.
Security, Compliance Standards
Ensure compliance with security requirements and infrastructure standards.
Work with the Information Security Architect on secure configurations and vulnerability management.
Maintain accurate documentation and audit readiness.
Project Delivery New Site Provisioning
Act as technical lead for infrastructure components of ICT projects.
Conduct ICT needs assessments for new sites.
Plan and deploy infrastructure installations for new or refurbished sites.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Training, Experience and Qualifications
Formal ICT qualification (Level 8 or equivalent) or five years infrastructure engineering experience.
Five or more years’ experience in infrastructure engineering roles.
Strong experience with Microsoft enterprise technologies.
Experience with VMWare environments.
Experience with networks, servers, storage, and endpoint management.
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring systems.
Familiarity with ITIL-aligned processes.
Must be willing to travel regularly to IWA sites.
Knowledge and Skills
The ideal candidate would have
Systems administration experience in planning and supporting the deployment of various Microsoft enterprise technologies such as Office 365, Active Directory, Windows 10/11, and Microsoft Intune.
Several years’ experience of ICT operations across a dynamic and diverse portfolio of business applications and systems.
Strong familiarity with server technologies including VMWare virtualization technology.
Experience in implementing and supporting local area networks and enterprise phone systems.
Knowledge and prior experience in working in a fast-changing enterprise ICT environment.
Experience with ITIL-aligned change management processes is desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience of Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics 365 would also be advantageous.
Experience of people management, coaching and supporting team members.

Remuneration Benefits
Salary €55,431 to €68,230 DOE
