Réalta Technologies are searching for a skilled Automation Project Engineer to support a biotechnology client of ours on the design, implementation and optimisation of automation systems across their growing GMP facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a number of automation projects on site.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of multiple automation projects across a live biotech manufacturing facility.
- Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications within Rockwell Automation and Siemens control systems.
- Provide commissioning, start-up and qualification support for new and modified automation systems in line with GMP requirements.
- Review, shadow and oversee third-party system integrators to ensure automation work meets project and site standards.
- Support the operation, troubleshooting and optimisation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Qualified Building Automation Systems (QBAS).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Validation, Operations and Quality to deliver projects safely and on schedule.
- Provide technical input into system documentation, testing activities, change controls and commissioning records.
Job Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Software or Process Engineering.
- Proven experience programming and modifying Rockwell Automation and/or Siemens PLC/SCADA systems within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience supporting commissioning, qualification and start-up activities on pharmaceutical or biotech capital projects.
- Good understanding of BAS and QBAS architecture, functionality and GMP applications.
- High-level knowledge of industrial data historians and SCADA platforms, with exposure to Ignition and historian systems preferred.
- Experience managing or supervising the work of automation system integrators or external engineering vendors.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
