Position Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Purchasing Administrator to join the Commercial team within Networks Telecoms. Reporting to the Commercial and Governance Manager, this role supports the effective management of procurement activities across the function. Key responsibilities include raising and monitoring purchase orders, coordinating goods receipting, processing invoices, and ensuring the timely closure of orders.
The role requires regular engagement with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance frameworks. The Finance Purchasing Administrator also provides essential administrative support to finance and delivery teams, helping to maintain accurate records and support efficient, controlled expenditure management.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to:
Raise and manage all purchase orders for Networks Telecoms, ensuring appropriate approvals and budget alignment.
Validate costs and support invoice processing, resolving supplier queries to ensure accurate and timely payments.
Ensure all goods receipting is completed correctly and follow up on any discrepancies to facilitate payment.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to support the maintenance of bespoke systems and resolve issues as they arise.
Monitor and manage open purchase orders, ensuring timely follow-up and closure.
Provide administrative and procurement support to the contracts team, including assistance with tenders and contract management activities.
Maintain procurement systems and supplier records, including onboarding new suppliers and ensuring compliance with internal policies and governance standards.
Undertake ad hoc finance activities as required by the Commercial Manager
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Relevant third-level qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, purchase orders, and supplier management.
Experience working with financial systems (e.g. SAP in particular SRM).
Good knowledge of financial and administrative procedures, including invoicing and goods receipting.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and reconcile data accurately.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Desirable
Understanding of compliance, governance, and procurement policies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Location
This position will be based in ESB offices, Leopardstown Road.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€41,000 - €48,000 per annum.
