About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team in a residential addiction treatment centre.
This role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred nursing care to individuals with substance misuse and dual diagnosis, supporting them through detox, stabilisation, and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective nursing care to residents in a residential setting
- Monitor and manage detoxification and withdrawal symptoms
- Administer medications in line with best practice and policy
- Complete clinical assessments, observations, and care planning
- Identify and respond to risk, deterioration, or safeguarding concerns
- Support residents with both physical and mental health needs
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (counsellors, GP, psychiatry)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with active NMBI registration
- (General, Psychiatric or Dual Registered preferred)
- Experience in:
- addiction services
- mental health
- or acute care
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsDesirable
- Experience working in addiction or detox settings
- Knowledge of:
- substance misuse
- withdrawal management
- dual diagnosis
- Training in:
- MAPA / PMVA
- Safeguarding
- Interest in recovery-focused and trauma-informed care
