Position Summary
Setanta is looking for a Teaching Assistant who is based in or in the surrounding areas of Limerick to join our team. As a Sport Science Teaching Assistant at Setanta, you will play a dynamic role in all our education products, collaborating on its delivery while ensuring academic excellence. Your responsibilities will span undergraduate and postgraduate administration, involving the facilitation of practical workshops, meticulous grading of assignments, and providing mentorship for final applied projects. Additionally, you will contribute towards the college’s strategy planning regarding quality assurance, accreditation, revalidation, and compliance. Your multifaceted engagement will be instrumental in fostering a holistic educational experience for our diverse student community, contributing significantly to their academic growth and success.
Primary Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will assist on postgraduate and undergraduate programmes and Vocational and short courses.
- The successful candidate will assist on the auditing, reviewing and renovation of current educational products, and in the identification and creation of new educational content.
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Postgraduate Degree (MSc) in a related field (e.g., strength & conditioning, sports science, sport and exercise psychology, etc.).
- Previous experience working with teams/individual athletes in fields such as sports science, strength & conditioning, and psychology.
- Experience working in a personal training capacity (preferred).
- Have experience in assessment and supervision of students.
- Have experience in the delivery of education to adult learners.
- Proven experience and demonstrable skills in adhering to strict deadlines for all work submission.
Desired Entry Requirements
- Previous experience in content creation and renovation at a postgraduate level.
Abilities, Skills and Knowledge
- The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written.
- Strong understanding of academic standards and approaches across different levels of education, including vocational short courses, undergraduate (BSc), and postgraduate (MSc) programmes.(required).
