The Strategy Advocacy and Learning Department (SAL) supports the whole organisation in developing and setting strategy and supporting implementation of the same, assuring programme impact, supporting advocacy and influencing and facilitating and driving organisational learning. The Technical Assistance (TA) Unit provides direct assistance to Country Programmes and comprises over 30 advisors who support ongoing learning, programme quality and capacity development.
Role Purpose: The Programme Knowledge and Learning Officer contributes directly to Strategic Goal 1, the delivery of quality programmes through supporting the documentation of evidence-based learning from programmes and research and the use of learning and knowledge products to enhance staff capacity, inform programme design and strengthen impact. The Officer works with others in the technical assistance unit to support organisational learning, in particular across the two areas of knowledge creation and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities:
- Keep up to date the Knowledge Hub and the Technical Web Pages on the Concern Worldwide external website. Work with the Communications team to optimise organisational position and brand and the use and engagement of peers, donors and other stakeholders with the materials on the web-pages.
- Work with Country Programme Teams, Technical Advisors and others to identify, analyse and document learning and good practice for internal learning and external sharing. Provide training in the same as appropriate.
- Support to the identification of key research questions that are relevant to Concern Worldwide’s work and on request, assist in distilling learning from relevant research to share across the organisation.
- Incentivise and support the documentation of learning among Concern support office and country programme staff, through the provision of training and guidance in accordance with adult learning, organisational learning and learning preferences.
- Provide support on learning and knowledge to the four Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance countries, including undertaking country visits on request, and represent Concern Worldwide at the global Knowledge Workstream meetings.
- Assist in the synthesis and write up of the Annual Programme Progress Report
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in Knowledge Sharing and organisational learning, with a special focus on international NGOs and keeping key manager informed of same.

Role Holder Requirements:
Essential:
- Relevant Degree Development/Humanitarian Studies or similar.
- Experience with systems of knowledge management and sharing in an international organisation, preferably an international NGO.
- Proven ability to facilitate the generation, distillation and capture of learning for sharing and use by others.
