About Us
We are Astropark Sports Bar, a vibrant, high-energy sports bar located in the heart of the Coolock area. Known for our great atmosphere, live matches, and community spirit, we are upgrading our food game. We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and completely independent Head Chef to take full ownership of our kitchen operations on the weekends.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious chef who wants full creative freedom without the corporate micromanagement. You will have total control over the menu, running the kitchen as your own. Beyond our standard match-day crowd, we are expanding our offering to host private food events and kids' birthday parties, meaning you will need the flexibility to design everything from high-volume finger food platters to fun, child-friendly party menus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Leadership: Take total operational ownership and manage all day-to-day weekend kitchen functions independently.
- Menu Development: Design, execute, and continually improve a high-quality sports bar menu, managing portion control and costing.
- Event Catering: Create and deliver engaging food menus for specialized on-site events and kids' birthday parties.
- Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene.
- Stock & Margin Control: Manage ordering, stock levels, waste reduction, and inventory for your weekend shifts.
Requirements:
- Proven Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef running your own independent kitchen.
- Autonomy: A self-starter who thrives when working alone or leading a small team under minimal supervision.
- Event Capabilities: Experience handling diverse menu types, from classic gastro-pub/sports-bar food to kids' party catering.
- Documentation: Up-to-date HACCP / Food Safety certifications.
- Availability: Must be fully flexible and reliable to work weekends (Friday afternoon through Sunday evening).
