Our client is now seeking to recruit a confident production supervisor/teamlead who enjoys leading people, solving problems, driving standards, and delivering results in a fast-paced food production environment.
YOUR NEW JOB
You will be a critical member of the Operations team, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while leading and developing a high-performing team.
This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on operational performance, continuous improvement, and the success of a well-established and growing food manufacturing business.
- Lead day-to-day production activities to deliver production plans, output targets, quality standards, and operational KPIs.
- Coordinate staffing, workflow, and production schedules to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational performance.
- Allocate work, set priorities, and ensure performance standards are consistently achieved.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives and Encourage team participation in process improvement activities.
- Ensure safe working practices at all times and maintain strong safety focus at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, hygiene, allergen control, and GMP requirements.
- Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Work closely with Quality teams to investigate and resolve quality issues
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is seeking a role where their innate leadership ability will be recognised and valued within a progressive manufacturing organisation.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar supervisory or management role within a medium to large manufacturing organisation.
- Hands-on leadership experience in a unionised, manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to promote positive employee relations and build high-performing teams.
- Experience implementing operational improvements, continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and employee engagement.
- Knowledge and experience of BRC, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, and product compliance requirements is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
