LSM Engineering is a leading waste management company and currently recruiting for Fabrication Cleaners to join its production team at its manufacturing facility in Portlaoise.
The Fabrication Cleaning roles play an important part in our company’s production process. The roles involve cleaning off splatter on steel machines generated through the welding process and preparing machines using degreasing agents before painting.
Nominal working week is 39 Hrs, Monday to Friday with typically additional hours on Saturdays or evenings, due notice will be given on this matter. All work will be conducted on the manufacturing site in Portlaoise.
Responsibilities Include:
· Taking machines from the welding production line, initially using hand scrapers remove all visible splatter around the heavily multi pass welded areas of each machine.
· Using Angle Grinder to remove any splatter or sharp edges on flat surfaces and side panels of each machine.
· Gathering any additional non welded parts from the Laser and Press Brake to complete machine kits before painting.
· Using Degreasing cleaning agent each machine and associated parts are hot washed to remove any oil residue before painting the subsequent day.
· The role will include a level of flexibility and variety, with some support provided to personnel in other areas of the fabrication process, as required.
Requirements Include:
- Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language.
· One of the cleaning agents is a paint thinner solvent based solution so any Allergies should be notified to line manager beforehand.
· Punctual person with transportation to and from work.
· Experience with Power tools is essential.
· Forklift Experience desirable but not essential.
· Overhead Gantry Crane experience desirable but not essential.
· Manual Handling certificate desirable as some heavy lifting will be required.
· Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential.
