Purpose of Roles:
Delta Services is seeking Social Care Workers (SCW) and Social Care Practitioners (SCP) to join our Residential Team. Both roles involve providing high‑quality day‑to‑day personal care and support to residents, ensuring each person is valued, respected and supported to live a life that reflects their unique strengths, choices and goals.
Candidates must believe in the right of people with intellectual disabilities to live self‑directed, meaningful lives and to contribute fully to their community.
Key Responsibilities (for both roles):
- Ensure each resident:
- Is treated with dignity and respect
- Has genuine opportunities to make choices
- Can learn, grow and participate
- Is safeguarded from abuse
- Implement and review Person Centred Plans.
- Support residents using appropriate communication methods.
- Promote independence, personal development and community participation.
- Build trusting, consistent relationships.
- Adhere to all Delta Services policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook.
- Comply with HIQA Standards, HSE policies and all safeguarding procedures.
- Support residents in identifying aspirations and documenting support needs.
- Lead or contribute to person-centred processes to ensure meaningful, positive outcomes.
· All duties must be carried out to comply with:
- Statutory legislation in particular but not exclusively the Health Act 2007
o National and Delta Services agreed Policies and Codes of Good Practice, including Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse, Delta Services Medication Policy
o Notification of accidents and other Health and Safety requirements in compliance with Delta Services instructions
o Fire precautions
o Equal Opportunity principles
o Health and Safety.
Shift work over a 24/7 schedule is required.
Qualifications
Social Care Worker (SCW):
- Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Social Care / Social Studies or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- CORU registration or evidence of application submitted.
Social Care Practitioner (SCP):
Level 7 or higher qualification in a relevant health‑related field such as:
- Psychology
- Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
- Counselling/Psychotherapy
- Youth & Community Work
- Social Science / Social Studies
- Nursing Studies
- Disability Studies
- Applied Behavioural Analysis
- Social Pedagogy
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Paramedic Studies
- Humanities‑related disciplines
Experience (both roles)
- Experience working in social care is essential.
- Proven competence in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Strong motivation, communication skills and record‑keeping ability.
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and professionals.
- Flexible, adaptable and committed to high‑quality care.
Desirable
- Full clean driving licence.
Pay Scales
- Social Care Worker: €39,097 – €56,344 (linked to HSE PayScale)
- Social Care Practitioner: €39,097 – €55,293 (linked to HSE PayScale, without CORU Qualification)
