Position: Financial Accountant
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Job Summary: To support the production of weekly, monthly and statutory accounts for a number of cost centers and legal entities; to ensure taxation and statutory reporting requirements are processed on time; to support the Finance Team; to support the development of IT systems and controls particularly with respect to accounting processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Working with The Finance Manager and Finance Team:
- Weekly and Monthly Management Accounts
- Ensure timely and accurate sales ledger, purchase ledger and journal processing
- Ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
- Analytical review versus budget and last year
- Liaise with internal departments to support and resolve queries in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensuring that accounting records are maintained in accordance with accepted policies and procedures
· Taxation
- PAYE Returns
- VAT Returns
- VIES Returns
- Diesel Rebate Claim
- Customs TAN Account Reconciliation
· Payroll
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll for all companies
- Support the Finance Team in the completion of the weekly payroll
- Review of payroll reports on a monthly basis
- Ensuring that payroll records are maintained in accordance with accepted policies and procedures
· Intercompany Transactions
- Ensure accurate and efficient intercompany recording and recharge process
- Recharges
- Reconciliations
· Finance Team Support
- Support the Finance Team with their day to day responsibilities but also with the development of their skills and responsibilities
· Projects / Reviews
- Reviewing, developing and implementing appropriate controls and procedures
- AR leger reviews
- AP ledger reviews
- Support other ad-hoc tasks and projects
· Annual Requirements
- Budget preparation and finalisation
- Statutory audit support
- Financial statements preparation and finalisation
Requirements:

- Competent IT skills, particularly proficient with spreadsheet software
- High level of accuracy
- Extremely organised in a manner that is easily read by others

· Administrative skills
- Previous experience of general accounting
- Travel to and work temporarily in various locations throughout Ireland in particular Galway
IT Skills:
- PC literacy, MS Outlook, Excel to a high standard and Word
- Proficiency in relevant accounting software, ideally Sage
Qualification:
- Relevant business qualification
- 2 years + relevant experience
- Part or recently qualified accountant
