Italian Piadina Café is currently looking for a friendly, reliable, versatile, and energetic team member to join our café in Waterford City Centre.
In this dynamic role, you will be at the heart of our daily operations — preparing excellent coffee, delivering warm customer service, and helping to prepare our signature Italian piadinas. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide warm, friendly service
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash and card payments and operate the till/POS system
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffees, teas, and other beverages
- Assist with food preparation and service as required
- Monitor and restock supplies for both the coffee bar and kitchen station
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
- Keep the dining area, counter, and all workspaces clean and organised
- Work as part of a team during busy service periods
- Help ensure the café runs smoothly on a daily basis
Food Preparation & Cooking Duties
- Prepare fresh ingredients for our Italian piadinas, including slicing meats, washing greens, and preparing spreads and cheeses
- Assemble and cook piadinas to order
- Ensure excellent food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Follow food safety procedures at all times
- Keep the prep station clean, organised, and fully stocked
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience as a barista, café assistant, or in hospitality is an advantage
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic food preparation or kitchen experience (full piadina training will be provided)
- The ability to multitask and move confidently between customer service, coffee making, and food preparation
- A friendly, customer-focused attitude
- A positive approach and strong work ethic
- The ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends
- An interest in coffee and creating a great customer experience
