The Team
This role is part of a well-established Enterprise Security team that leads the design, implementation and troubleshooting of IT security solutions across a variety of technical platforms, data networks and security domains. The solutions involved underpin the organisation’s corporate, market and power system operational functions.
The Opportunity
The Senior Cyber Risk Analyst will support the day-to-day management of cyber risk across EirGrid’s IT and operational technology environments. The role will coordinate operational cyber risk activities, helping to ensure that cyber risks are identified, assessed, tracked and reported in line with business priorities, regulatory obligations and organisational risk appetite.
The successful candidate will play a key role across cyber risk assurance, third-party and supply chain risk, risk governance, control oversight, regulatory readiness and management reporting. The role requires a strong and experienced cyber risk professional who can work confidently across detailed analysis, stakeholder engagement and risk reporting, while helping to embed a mature and consistent cyber risk management approach across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day oversight and governance of third-party cyber risk processes, working with internal stakeholders and managed service partners to ensure the effective coordination of due diligence, assessments, issue management and reporting.
- Deliver cyber risk assurance activities through the assessment of first line risks and controls, maintenance of the cyber risk register, and tracking of mitigation actions to support effective risk management across the organisation
- Prepare reporting, coordinate evidence for audit and regulatory activity, and contributing to the continued development of cyber risk processes, standards and supporting documentation.
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of EirGrid’s cyber risk management framework, standards, procedures and supporting guidance.
- Mentoring and development of junior team members, setting technical direction and being accountable for delivery outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across IT, OT, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit to support a joined-up and practical approach to cyber risk management.
About You-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 5 years of experience in cyber risk management, cyber governance, risk assurance, compliance or related roles.
- Experience in cyber risk assessment, risk treatment, risk register management, and remediation tracking and reporting for management, governance and regulatory purposes.
- Strong understanding of recognised cyber risk and control frameworks and methodologies, including ISO 27001, ISO 27005, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls or equivalent.
- Experience supporting audit, assurance, regulatory or compliance activity, including evidence gathering, action tracking and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information, identify risk and control issues, and support the development of practical governance outputs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and control issues into clear business risk language for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
