We are a busy, community pharmacy, committed to providing exceptional customer care and professional healthcare advice. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused OTC Pharmacy Assistant to join our team.
Role Overview
As an OTC Pharmacy Assistant, you will be communicating with many customers, helping them select appropriate healthcare products and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will support the pharmacist and wider team in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards throughout the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service.
- Assist customers with over-the-counter healthcare, wellness, and retail products.
- Refer customers to the pharmacist where appropriate.
- Process sales accurately using the pharmacy till system.
- Merchandise shelves and maintain attractive product displays.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stock ordering and replenishment.
- Receive and unpack deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional retail environment.
- Support promotional campaigns and seasonal product displays.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy procedures and health and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and other team members.
Requirements
- 2 years' experience in a pharmacy or retail healthcare environment preferred but not required.
- OTC Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service focus and a genuine interest in healthcare.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and late evenings as required.
