S&R Motors Donegal Ltd are looking for a reliable, organised, and experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our team.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, proactive and detail-focused. You should be comfortable managing financial information, working to deadlines, and taking responsibility for your workload.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping, assisting with accounts preparation, and ensuring that financial information is kept up to date and accurate.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Process purchase and sales invoices
- Record income and expenditure
- Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and issue customer invoices
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts
- VAT returns and other statutory requirements
- Prepare monthly and annual accounts information
- Assist with payroll and related records where required
- Maintain accurate records of expenses and receipts
- Prepare financial reports and summaries for management
- Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring and financial forecasting
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, accountants, auditors and other relevant parties
- Ensure all financial information is handled securely and confidentially
- Identify discrepancies or errors and resolve them promptly
- Ensure bookkeeping practices comply with relevant regulations and company procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Excel
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage
- A high level of integrity and confidentiality
Requirements
- Minimum 2 - 3 years accounting experience is required
- Experience working in the motor industry would be beneficial but not essential
Pay: From €14.15 per hour
