Working Foreman
Location: Ireland (site-based, multiple projects)
Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Foreman to take ownership of the closing stages of commercial fit-out projects across Ireland.
Reporting to the Site or Project Manager, you will lead the final phase on site, ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and ready for handover with minimal defects. This role suits someone detail-focused, organised, and confident managing multiple trades in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties
- Oversee all finishing works and snagging activities on site
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme deadlines and handover targets
- Coordinate subcontractors and trades to maintain workflow and quality standards
- Identify, track and close out defects using QA and snagging systems
- Liaise with M&E teams to ensure smooth integration with building works, including:
- Builders’ work requirements
- Service routes and containment
- Ceiling interfaces and coordination
- Support during commissioning stages
- Review drawings and specifications to flag potential issues early
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, labour returns and deliveries
- Implement short-term planning and monitor progress against lookahead programmes
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety requirements, including RAMS and permits
- Keep the site clean, safe and well organised at all times
- Support inspections, practical completion and final handover stages
- Promote high standards of workmanship and productivity across all trades
Requirements
Experience
- Around 10 years’ experience in site supervision or similar roles
- Strong track record within commercial fit-out or interior projects
- Experience delivering fast-paced programmes involving multiple trades
Health & Safety
- Valid Safe Pass
- Manual Handling certification
- Good working knowledge of Irish H&S regulations
Technical
- Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Solid understanding of fit-out sequencing and trade coordination (partitions, ceilings, finishes, doors, fire stopping)
- IT literate, with working knowledge of MS Office
M&E Coordination
- Experience working alongside mechanical and electrical trades
- Understanding of coordination requirements through to commissioning
Leadership
- Confident supervising subcontractors and site teams
- Strong communication skills with both workforce and clients
- Proactive and decisive approach on site
Planning & Reporting
- Familiar with short-term planning and lookahead scheduling
- Accurate record keeping across site documentation
Quality
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality finishes with minimal defects
Other
- Full right to work in Ireland
- Full driving licence
- Willing to travel between project locations
Desirable
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
- First Aid / Occupational First Aid
- Additional tickets (MEWP, Working at Height, etc.)
- Experience working in live environments
- Exposure to high-end or bespoke fit-out projects
- Familiarity with digital QA/snags systems
- Some commercial awareness (variations, cost control)
- Previous trade background (e.g. carpentry/joinery)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: €54,739.55-€75,000.00 per year
