The Role
Support clients in their homes and communities, helping them live independently, safely, and with dignity. This is a varied and rewarding role working with a range of care needs.
Key Responsibilities

Support daily living activities (cooking, cleaning, shopping)

Assist individuals with disabilities and complex needs

Prompt medication in line with care plans

Promote independence, wellbeing, and community engagement

Maintain accurate care records and follow care plans
Core Skills & Competencies

Strong communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)

Patience and empathy

Ability to build trust with children and families

Observation and reporting skills

Ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly
Practical Skills
Depending on the role, you may need:

Personal care skills (feeding, dressing, toileting)

Knowledge of assistive equipment (e.g. wheelchairs, hoists)

Supporting communication methods (e.g. visual aids, PECS)
-
Supporting routines and structured activities
Working Hours
-
37.5 hours per week (guaranteed)
-
Shifts between 8:00am - 9:00pm
-
4 long days (8am - 9pm OR up to 6 shorter days (8am - 5pm) per week as required

Every second weekend

Requirements

Minimum QQI Level 5 or higher (Healthcare, Social Care, ECCE) OR QQI Level 6 SNA
-
Full EU driving licence and access to a vehicle

Flexible and reliable
-
Strong communication skills
-
Experience in care is essential
