Secure Power Systems Ltd. is seeking a qualified electrician to join our team as a Field Service Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician interested in developing a career within the specialist critical-power industry. The successful candidate will work on UPS systems, industrial DC power systems, battery chargers and battery installations at customer sites throughout Ireland.
Specialist manufacturer and in-house training will be provided to a suitably qualified electrician.
Main Responsibilities
- Install, service and commission UPS and industrial DC power systems.
- Install and replace battery systems.
- Carry out battery testing and condition assessments.
- Perform electrical fault-finding and equipment diagnostics.
- Install and terminate AC and DC cabling.
- Complete service reports, test sheets and commissioning documentation.
- Liaise professionally with customers, site representatives and project managers.
- Work in accordance with approved RAMS, site safety procedures and company policies.
- Maintain company tools, test equipment and service vehicles.
- Participate in overtime and an on-call rota when required.
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified electrician with a recognised Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate or equivalent.
- Good understanding of electrical safety
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Full, clean Irish driving licence.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout Ireland.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable completing electronic service reports and site documentation.
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial but is not essential:
- UPS systems.
- Industrial battery chargers and DC power systems.
- Battery installation / testing.

Working Arrangements
This is a field-based role involving travel to customer sites throughout Ireland using a company-provided vehicle.
Most work is completed during normal working hours. Occasional early starts, overnight stays, or participation in an on-call rota may be required depending on customer and project needs. These requirements are generally planned in advance, with overtime, subsistence and expenses paid where applicable.
