Young Engineers Instructor (Part-Time) | STEM Workshops for Children

Young Engineers Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown is looking for enthusiastic and reliable instructors to help inspire the next generation through hands-on STEM and engineering experiences.
Young Engineers is an international educational organisation operating in over 100 countries, with programmes already running across Dublin and Ireland. Through engaging building activities and engineering challenges, children develop creativity, problem-solving skills, teamwork and confidence while having fun.
This is an opportunity to join the founding team bringing Young Engineers to the local community as we expand our programmes across schools and community venues in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
Your Role
As a Young Engineers Instructor, you'll guide children through engaging engineering challenges and structured building activities that make learning fun, practical and memorable.
Programmes are delivered in schools, after-school settings, libraries, community centres, workshops and holiday camps across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
We are particularly looking for instructors available during weekday school and after-school hours, including regular sessions during the school term. We currently have upcoming opportunities on Tuesday afternoons.
No engineering background is required. Full training, curriculum and materials will be provided.

What We're Looking For
You don't need to be an engineer, but an interest in STEM, science, engineering, technology or scientific thinking is important.
We're looking for individuals who are:

- Organised and punctual
- Strong communicators
- Curious and eager to learn
Applications are particularly welcome from:
- Teachers and trainee teachers
- Engineering, science or technology students
- Youth leaders and camp facilitators
- Childcare professionals
- Anyone with experience teaching, tutoring, coaching or working with children
Experience working with children and access to transport are advantageous, as programmes are delivered across different locations in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
Garda Vetting is essential for this role.
Practical Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be based in Dublin and able to travel to locations across Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown
- Already have the legal right to work in Ireland
- Be available for some weekday school and after-school hours
- Have strong communication skills
- Have a positive and proactive attitude
Please note that this part-time position does not provide visa or work permit sponsorship. Applicants must already have their own valid permission to work in Ireland.
