Purpose of the Role
To support the delivery of a high-quality, homely and engaging environment for residents by assisting with their daily needs, promoting their independence, dignity and choice, and supporting the nursing and care teams.
Key Responsibilities

Support residents with daily activities and general needs, excluding direct personal care.

Assist with mealtimes, including preparing dining areas, serving meals and drinks, and supporting residents with eating where required under the direction of the HCA/Nurse.

Maintain residents' rooms, including changing beds, tidying rooms and wardrobes with residents' consent.

Assist with linen, toiletries and other household supplies.

Support resident admissions and discharges, including recording personal belongings.

Encourage resident engagement through activities such as conversation, games, music, dancing, walking and chair-based exercises.

Report any accidents, incidents or concerns immediately to the Nurse in Charge.

Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy, dignity, choice and rights at all times.

Follow all health and safety, infection control and nursing home policies and procedures.

Work positively as part of the wider nursing home team and attend required training.

Maintain a professional appearance and wear the correct uniform at all times.

Help create a positive and welcoming environment where residents feel at home, with a focus on Food and Fun.
