We are looking for an experienced, motivated and hands-on Site General Manager to lead the team at SPAR Woodbine.
This is a senior on-site management position with overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the store. The successful candidate will coordinate the shop-floor team while also overseeing the delicatessen and barista departments.

Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the daily operation of the site.
- Lead, support and coordinate the shop-floor, delicatessen and barista teams.
- Prepare staff rotas and ensure the business is appropriately staffed.
- Recruit, train, develop and motivate employees.
- Manage employee performance, attendance and workplace standards.
- Ensure excellent customer service is consistently delivered.
- Oversee stock ordering, deliveries, stock rotation and availability.
- Monitor stock levels, waste, margins and stock losses.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and compliance with all company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of merchandising, presentation and cleanliness.
- Ensure the delicatessen and barista departments operate efficiently and achieve their sales and performance targets.
- Maintain food safety, health and safety and HACCP standards throughout the site.
- Monitor sales, wages and other key performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve the overall performance of the store.
- Work closely with senior management and provide regular updates on site performance.
- Ensure all company policies, procedures and SPAR brand standards are followed.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience managing a busy convenience store, supermarket or similar retail operation.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Experience preparing rotas and managing staffing levels and wage costs.
- Good knowledge of stock control, ordering, waste management and merchandising.
- Experience overseeing a deli, food-service or coffee department would be a strong advantage.
- A good understanding of HACCP, food safety and health and safety requirements.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy environment.
- A hands-on management style and a willingness to support the team where required.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage sales, costs and store performance.
- Flexibility to work according to the operational needs of the business.
