Sally Mac’s Pub & Kitchen is looking for an experienced, hands-on Assistant Manager to join our management team.
This is a key role within the business, working closely with and reporting directly to the General Manager. You will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the pub and kitchen operation.
We are looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor and behind the bar, leading and making sure both the team and our customers have a great experience. It is a varied role from supervising a busy service and supporting the team to preparing rosters, placing orders and helping keep the operation organised and running smoothly.
Salary: €40,000 DOE plus tips & service charge
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the business
- Act as Manager on Duty and take responsibility for the operation in the General Manager’s absence
- Lead, supervise and motivate the front-of-house team
- Monitor service standards and ensure customers receive consistently excellent service
- Prepare and manage staff rosters in line with business requirements
- Manage stock ordering and assist with stock control
- Monitor staffing levels, productivity and labour costs
- Help train, develop and support team members
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly
- Handle customer queries and resolve any issues professionally
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the venue
- Support compliance with health & safety, food safety and licensing requirements
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service
- Assist the General Manager with the overall performance and organisation of the business
- Be willing to get involved wherever needed – this is a hands-on management position
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Supervisor, Duty Manager, Assistant Manager or similar management role within a busy pub, bar, restaurant or hospitality environment.
- A confident and capable people manager
- Comfortable taking charge of a busy service
- Organised and able to manage rosters, ordering and day-to-day administration
- Strong on customer service and maintaining standards
- Reliable, responsible and able to make decisions when required
- A good communicator who can build a positive relationship with both the team and management
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of stock, labour and operational costs
- Flexible and comfortable working evenings and weekends as part of the management roster
- Most importantly, hands-on and happy to get stuck in when the business is busy
