Operations Manager - Mobile Dentistry for Nursing and Care Homes
We are seeking an organised and compassionate Operations Manager to lead the delivery of mobile dental services across nursing homes and care homes. The role coordinates clinicians, vehicles, portable equipment, care-home teams and patient appointments to ensure every clinic runs safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to residents.
The successful candidate will combine strong operational leadership with an understanding of the needs of older people and vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee mobile dental clinics across multiple nursing homes and care homes.
- Coordinate dentists, dental nurses, drivers and administrative staff.
- Schedule visits, manage routes and allocate teams, vehicles and portable equipment.
- Liaise with care-home managers, nursing teams, residents, families and legal representatives.
- Confirm patient lists, medical information, consent arrangements and accessibility requirements before each visit.
- Ensure appropriate infection prevention and control, equipment decontamination, clinical-waste handling and stock management.
- Monitor vehicle and equipment maintenance, servicing, calibration and readiness.
- Maintain contingency plans for staff absence, vehicle breakdowns, equipment failures and cancelled visits.
- Support safe patient identification, documentation, referrals and follow-up care.
- Manage budgets, purchasing, supplier relationships and operational performance.
- Recruit, induct, supervise and develop operational and administrative staff.
- Monitor service quality, complaints, incidents and key performance indicators.
- Support audits, inspections, risk assessments and continuous-improvement projects.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure information is handled in accordance with data-protection requirements.
- Work with the clinical lead to ensure services comply with applicable dental, safeguarding, health and safety, and care-sector standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably within dentistry, healthcare, domiciliary care or another regulated service.
- Strong scheduling, logistics and multi-site coordination experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clinical teams, care-home staff, residents and families.
- Understanding of safeguarding, consent, capacity, confidentiality and dignity when supporting vulnerable adults.
- Experience managing budgets, suppliers, equipment, vehicles or mobile service delivery.
- Strong IT, reporting and administrative skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make practical decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to travel regularly between care-home locations.
- Full driving licence and satisfactory background checks, where required.
A relevant qualification in operations, business, healthcare or dental management is desirable. Previous experience in mobile dentistry, care homes or services for older people would be an advantage.

Pay: From €37,000.00 per year
