O’Brien Landscaping is seeking an experienced Tractor Operator to join our sports construction and maintenance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in agriculture, greenkeeping, sports turf or landscaping who wants to move into a more specialised and technically interesting role working on high-quality sports surfaces.
About the Role
This position focuses on tractor-based operations within sports pitch construction, drainage and maintenance.
You will be involved in:
- Sports pitch drainage installation (including sand slitting and associated works)
- Preparation and grading of sports surfaces
- Tractor-led operations using specialist equipment
- Supporting landscape and sports construction works where required
- Working across a range of high-quality sports and amenity sites
This is primarily a machine-based role, but flexibility to support site activities is important.
Who This Role Will Suit
This role will suit someone who:
- Has strong tractor driving experience (we operate a modern fleet of computerised Fendt tractors)
- Comes from a background in farming, greenkeeping, sports turf, contracting or landscaping
- Takes pride in operating machinery to a high standard
- Is interested in developing specialist skills in sports turf and drainage
- Is looking for a stable, long-term position with progression
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven tractor driving experience (Modern tractors)
- Good understanding of ground conditions and site operations
- Full clean driving licence
- Safe Pass
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience in sports turf, drainage or groundworks
- Machine tickets or experience with specialist equipment
- Tractor work in agriculture or contracting environments
- Experience working on golf courses, GAA pitches or similar
Working Hours
- Typical hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm
- Seasonal variability applies
- Overtime and weekend work available
