Syntech Recruitment are partnering with an established industrial engineering contractor to recruit experienced Coded Carbon Steel Pipe Welders for immediate work on a major project in Limerick.
This role will support high-spec pipework installation within a process-driven industrial environment, focusing on coded MMA welding, weld quality and adherence to strict welding procedures.
Coded Carbon Steel Pipe Welder Responsibilities
· Carry out MMA (Stick) welding on carbon steel pipework to coded standards
· Work from WPS, P&IDs and isometric drawings
· Perform root, fill and cap passes to high-quality standards
· Prepare pipe joints including beveling, grinding and fit-up
· Ensure correct welding parameters and consumables are used
· Complete welds in line with project specifications and QA requirements
· Visually inspect welds and support NDT processes where required
· Maintain welding documentation and traceability records
· Work closely with pipefitters and supervisors during installation
· Adhere to site safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
· Ensure all work is completed right-first-time in line with quality expectations
Coded Carbon Steel Pipe Welder Requirements
· Proven experience as a coded pipe welder on carbon steel systems
· Valid or previously coded MMA welding certifications
· Strong experience welding to WPS and engineering specifications
· Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and weld maps
· Experience within industrial, oil & gas, or process environments
· Competent in multi-pass welding techniques
· Strong understanding of weld quality and inspection standards
