We are seeking a General Practice Nurse to provide temporary cover for leave in Kilmoganny Health Centre, Co Kilkenny ( 25minutes from Waterford City, 25 minutes from Kilkenny City, 20 minutes from Carrick-on-Suir).
As a Practice Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality primary care services to patients of all ages. You will work closely with our 2 GPs, practice manager and administrative team to support both acute and chronic care needs. Previous GP Practice nursing experience is preferred. Having experience in cervical check, childhood immunisations and CDM is an advantage to applicants. Hours flexible (6-20 hours per week). Competitive salary. Immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities
- Chronic disease management – reviews and maintenance of relevant databases
- Administration of childhood, adult vaccinations
- Phlebotomy, venesection and specimen collection
- Health promotion, screening, and patient education
- Wound care, dressings and basic clinical procedures
- Ear irrigation
- Cervical screening
- Administration of medication / injections
- Supporting preventative care initiatives
- Working collaboratively with GPs and the wider practice team
- Maintaining accurate clinical records using practice software (Socrates)
- Ensuring high standards of infection control and patient safety
- Stock ordering
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered General Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Experience in primary care or community nursing desirable
- Experience in childhood immunisations, cervical screening and CDM desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Candidates must have current eligibility to work in Ireland (e.g. EU/EEA/UK citizenship, Stamp 4, or valid work permit).
