Night Porter – Managed Accommodation
Location: Killarney, Co. Kerry

Hours: 10:00pm – 7:00am
Shifts: 3–5 nights per week, flexible days
Hotel Killarney is looking for a reliable and responsible Night Porter to join our team working within our managed accommodation property in Killarney.
This is a quiet, residential-style accommodation environment rather than a traditional tourist hostel. The role is focused mainly on ensuring the property is safe, secure and well maintained throughout the night.
The successful candidate will carry out regular security checks, manage access to the property, complete basic cleaning duties and assist residents with any straightforward queries or access requirements during the night.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular security walks and checks of the property throughout the night.
- Monitor access to the property and ensure doors and access points are secure.
- Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment overnight.
- Carry out basic cleaning duties in communal areas as required.
- Keep communal areas clean and tidy.
- Report any incidents, damage, maintenance issues or concerns to management.
- Assist residents with basic queries or access requirements where necessary.
- Complete a handover for the morning team.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by management.
Requirements
- Reliable, punctual and responsible.
- Comfortable working independently during overnight hours.
- Good attention to detail and a responsible approach to security.
- Professional, respectful and approachable manner.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and deal appropriately with any issues that arise.
- Previous experience in a night porter, security, hospitality or similar role is an advantage but not essential.
- Good spoken English.
- Flexibility to work 3–5 nights per week, including weekends.
