We are looking for a creative and dependable person to join the team behind BLANK Canvas and Velvet + the Fox.
This is a varied part-time position combining creative after-school classes with hands-on studio production. It would particularly suit someone with a background or interest in art, design, education, craft, model making or creative technology.
The successful candidate will receive paid training and approximately seven weeks of supported shadowing before taking responsibility for the role while the founders are away.
AFTER-SCHOOL CLASSES
Our 3D design and printing classes take place Monday to Thursday from approximately 2:00–3:00pm across schools in Dublin 7, Stapolin and Portmarnock.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering prepared 3D design and printing lessons
- Helping primary-school children develop their ideas and creations
- Creating a warm, positive and encouraging classroom environment
- Preparing and organising class equipment and materials
- Providing updates on class progress
All lesson plans, equipment and class-specific training will be provided.
STUDIO WORK
The role also includes approximately eight flexible studio hours each week.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and operating resin and FDM 3D printers
- Cleaning and preparing 3D-printed models
- Sanding, priming and painting bespoke sculptures
- Preparing FDM prints and materials for upcoming classes
- Packaging completed customer orders
- Assisting with occasional photography, video and social-media content
- Keeping the studio workspace clean and organised

- Interested in learning 3D-printing and sculpture-finishing techniques
- Able to commit to the full cover period from October to March
Previous experience in teaching, working with children, creative workshops, painting, model making, 3D printing or content creation is preferable. However, full role-specific training will be provided to the right person.
Access to a car is preferred due to the different school locations.
The successful candidate will be required to complete Garda vetting and provide references before working independently with children.
