Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our team in Bolands Waterford. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the dealership, with a strong emphasis on vehicle invoicing, manufacturer support accounting, and reconciliation of back-end vehicle margins.
This role requires excellent numerical accuracy, strong administrative skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Invoicing & Sales Accounting

Process and raise vehicle sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Ensure all vehicle deal packs are complete and compliant prior to invoicing.

Verify vehicle costs, retail prices, trade values, and associated charges.

Post vehicle purchases, sales, and transfers to the Dealer Management System (DMS).

Liaise closely with the sales department regarding vehicle documentation and deal queries.
Manufacturer Supports & Incentives

Account for manufacturer supports, bonuses, rebates, and dealer incentives.

Reconcile manufacturer statements and ensure all supports are claimed and received.

Monitor outstanding claims and follow up with manufacturers where necessary.

Maintain accurate schedules for bonus accruals and support payments.

Assist in month-end reporting relating to franchise and manufacturer supports.
Back-End Margin Reconciliation

Reconcile back-end vehicle margins including finance commissions, warranty income, and ancillary products.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies between expected and actual margins.

Prepare margin analysis reports for management review.

Ensure all back-end income is correctly posted and supported by documentation.
Skills & Experience

Previous experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role, ideally within the motor industry.

Experience with vehicle invoicing and dealership accounting systems preferred.

Strong understanding of reconciliations and accounting controls.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/DMS systems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
