We are looking to hire Commercial Vehicle Body Builders who will construct, modify, and repair custom bodies on vehicle chassis (e.g., box trucks, flatbeds, and refrigerated units). Daily tasks involve reading technical drawings, metal fabrication, welding, and installing specialized components like tail lifts and shutter doors.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Assembly: Measure, cut, and shape materials (steel, aluminium, wood, and plastics) to construct custom truck bodies.
- Welding: Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on structural frameworks and components to secure them to the vehicle chassis.
- Fitting Equipment: Install auxiliary equipment such as tail lifts, cranes, winches, shutter doors, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering schematics, build sheets, and technical instructions.
- Interior & Exterior Finish: Fit flooring, lashing rails, grab handles, and perform structural sealing and painting.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all modifications comply with transport and safety regulations.
Essential Requirements
- Trade Experience: Proven background in vehicle body building, coachbuilding, or heavy fabrication.
- Welding Proficiency: Strong ability in MIG and/or TIG welding with various metals.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
- Blueprint Reading: Capability to understand complex CAD drawings and technical specifications.
Salary €36605.00/ annum. €18.05 per hour. 39 hrs/wk.
