Employment Type: Full Time, Fixed term contract currently for approximately 2 months, however this could potentially be extended further.
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am-16:30pm, Friday 8:00am - 13:00pm
Davenham Switchgear, a Legrand Group company, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Payroll Specialist to support the payroll team during a period of leave. This role involves processing payroll for both Irish (weekly) and UK (monthly) employees.
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills, at least 2 years of relevant payroll experience, and a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
- Process weekly Irish and monthly UK payrolls, ensuring accurate and timely payments
- Maintain payroll records, including time and attendance data, tax (RPN), and benefits
- Checking for any blank days on time sheets – following up with employees for sick certs and logging the gaps on HRLocker for group reporting.
- Handle payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, and contract changes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment and payroll legislation
- Assist with payroll reports, gender pay gap data, and related documentation
General Administrative Duties:
- Maintain well-organised financial filing systems (electronic and physical)
- Support audit processes by providing required documentation
- Respond to employee and vendor queries regarding payroll
- Stay informed on accounting standards and compliance obligations
Qualifications:
Education:
- Payroll certification (IPASS) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Familiarity with accounting software and payroll systems (SAGE Micropay an advantage)
- Strong understanding of GDPR & data sensitivity.
Skills:
- Analytical and have excellent attention to detail. Detail oriented with an aptitude for figures and the ability to problem solve.
- Somebody who takes responsibility and pride in their role that values accuracy and precision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal to enable them to work successfully with a diverse customer base.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Pay: €38,000.00-€42,000.00 per year
