Role Overview
The Catering Supervisor supports the General Manager in the day to day running of the Food & Beverage service in the National Gallery. The role is responsible for supervising service teams, coordinating the restaurant and event setups, and ensuring the smooth delivery of service. The supervisor plays a key operational role in maintaining high standards of service, presentation, and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
* Support the General Manager in the smooth running of daily café, restaurant, and hospitality operations.
* Ensure high standards of customer service, food quality, cleanliness, and presentation are maintained at all times.
* Monitor service delivery and resolve operational issues efficiently.
* Assist in opening and closing procedures as required.
Team Leadership & Training
* Lead and supervise team members on a day-to-day basis.
* Provide guidance, support, and direction to staff during service.
* Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
* Support ongoing staff development and ensure team members follow company policies and procedures.
* Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment.
Hospitality & Events
* Support the planning and delivery of internal hospitality events.
* Oversee hospitality events and café operations in the absence of the General Manager.
* Ensure all event requirements are executed efficiently and to a high standard.
Staff Support
* Confidently and independently handle staff queries and day-to-day operational challenges.
* Manage staff breaks, shift organisation, and workflow during service periods.
* Escalate significant issues to the General Manager when necessary.
Stock & Ordering
* Assist with stock control and inventory management.
* Place orders with suppliers as required, ensuring stock levels are maintained
* Support efforts to minimize waste and control costs.
Pay: €15.00 per hour
Experience:
- Catering Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
