Your new role
As a Health & Safety Manager, you will join a project team based in Cork, providing operational support across all aspects of health, safety, environment, quality and wellbeing. You will play a key role in ensuring standards are consistently applied on site, driving compliance, managing risk and promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include:
Safety Leadership:

Lead and manage the health and safety function on assigned projects.

Provide expert advice and guidance to project managers, engineers and supervisors.

Ensure safety is embedded across planning, delivery and project close-out stages.
Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure full compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and internal procedures.

Develop, review and implement project safety plans, risk assessments and method statements.

Conduct regular site inspections, audits and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are completed.

Monitor subcontractor compliance and provide support where required.
Culture and Engagement

Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and active engagement with site teams.

Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks and training sessions.

Encourage open communication around safety and ensure lessons learned are shared across teams.
Reporting and Assurance

Prepare and present regular safety reports to senior project and business leadership.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, near misses and corrective actions.

Support standardisation of reporting and performance tracking across projects.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
-
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.

Professional membership of IOSH or an equivalent body.

Proven experience managing safety teams or site-based safety professionals.
Desirable:
-
Postgraduate qualification in health & safety, risk management or a related discipline.

Additional training in behavioural safety or leadership coaching.

Experience in environmental and sustainability aspects of project delivery.
