Retrofit Design Ltd. is seeking an experienced and reliable Multi-Skilled General Operative to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will work across a range of residential retrofit, energy-upgrade and construction projects, primarily throughout Kerry and Cork. This is a varied, hands-on position ideally suited to someone with good general construction/retrofit experience who is comfortable assisting across multiple trades and taking responsibility for completing work to a high standard.
The Role
Duties will vary depending on project requirements and may include:
- General construction and retrofit works
- Carpentry and general finishing works
- Insulation works, including attic and associated retrofit measures
- Minor plastering, patching and making good
- Assisting with window and door installation/replacement
- Basic demolition and preparation works
- Sealing, airtightness and finishing works
- Assisting qualified tradespeople as required
- Loading, unloading and movement of materials
- Maintaining clean, safe and organised work areas
- Completing works in occupied homes with due care and consideration for the homeowner
- Following company RAMS, health & safety procedures and quality requirements
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience across more than one area of construction and who can demonstrate good practical problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous construction, retrofit or property-maintenance experience
- Be competent in a range of general building tasks
- Have strong practical and problem-solving abilities
- Take pride in the quality and finish of their work
- Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Be reliable, punctual and willing to take responsibility
- Have a strong awareness of health & safety requirements
- Be respectful and professional when working in customers' homes
- Be willing to learn and undertake additional training
Requirements
- Valid Safe Pass
- Manual Handling certification
- Full clean driving licence
- Relevant construction experience
- Ability to travel to project locations as required
Additional construction, carpentry, insulation, airtightness, plastering, window/door installation or other relevant trade experience would be a distinct advantage.
