Zr Academy of Education is currently looking for enthusiastic and reliable teachers and tutors to join our growing team in Dublin 2.
We are particularly seeking candidates with strong subject knowledge and teaching experience in:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Junior Cycle Science
- Mathematics
About the role
This is an in-person, part-time teaching role at our Dublin 2 centre.
Teaching hours are variable and based on student demand, with no fixed or guaranteed weekly hours. Classes are generally scheduled after school, in the evenings, at weekends and during school holidays.
The role may suit qualified teachers, recent graduates, postgraduate students and high-achieving undergraduate students looking for flexible teaching opportunities alongside their studies or other commitments.
Your responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons to Junior Cycle and/or Leaving Certificate students.
- Explain scientific concepts clearly and adapt explanations to different student levels.
- Support students with exam preparation, past papers, marking schemes and exam technique.
- Prepare appropriate lesson materials, notes and practice exercises.
- Identify students' learning needs and adapt lessons accordingly.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Build students' confidence and encourage independent learning.
- Maintain a professional, supportive and respectful learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Zr Academy academic and administrative team.
- Attend scheduled lessons punctually and maintain high professional standards.
What we're looking for
Qualified Teachers
- Relevant teaching qualification and/or post-primary teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Irish Junior Cycle and/or Leaving Certificate curriculum.
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Science.
Graduates & Postgraduates
- Level 8 degree or higher, or currently undertaking postgraduate study, in a relevant subject.
- Strong academic background in the relevant subject.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is highly desirable.
Undergraduate Students
- Excellent academic performance in the relevant subject.
- Normally H1/625 or equivalent in the relevant Leaving Certificate subject.
- Strong ability to explain scientific concepts clearly.
- A mature, responsible and professional approach.
