This role is employed by Ardrar Ltd, which operates under separate terms and conditions to Bord Gáis Energy. Together we’re helping homes, farms and businesses cut costs, reduce emissions, and transition to cleaner energy.
The Role
Ardrar Ltd, trading as Bord Gáis Energy, and part of the Centrica Group, is seeking a senior Operations Leader to manage Scheduling & Logistics and to shape the next phase of transformation as we accelerate our transition to a more sustainable energy future.
What you’ll be doing
- Reporting to the Operations Director, the Scheduling & Logistics Manager will own the end-to-end planning and execution of labour, scheduling, logistics, stock management and procurement coordination across the business.
- This role is accountable for ensuring customer demand is translated into a scalable, efficient and commercially optimised delivery plan. The successful candidate will lead the evolution of Scheduling & Logistics into a centralised capability supporting all Ardrar product lines, creating a single source of truth for labour planning, material availability, capacity forecasting and installation execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Scheduling & Resource Planning
- Scheduling & Capacity Planning
- Own all scheduling functions across Ardrar.
- Develop and maintain rolling 90-day labour, install and survey capacity plans.
- Ensure visible forward-looking capacity forecasts
- Manage installer, roofer, electrician, QA, surveyor and contractor capacity planning
- Drive Booked-to-Completion improvement initiatives.
- Lead weekly capacity reviews and recovery planning
2. Logistics and Stock Management
- Own inventory readiness and material availability for all scheduled works.
- Ensure stock availability aligns with planned install volumes.
- Implement scalable warehouse and logistics processes.
- Reduce stock losses, stock-outs and emergency purchasing.
- Improve stock visibility and forecasting capability.
- Work closely with warehouse, field teams and suppliers to ensure operational readiness.
3. Procurement and Supplier Coordination
- Act as Operations lead into Procurement.
- Build forward procurement plans aligned to forecast demand.
- Support onboarding and mobilisation of new contractors and suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance against SLA commitments.
- Coordinate contractor capacity requirements and contingency planning
4. Operational Performance
- Own delivery planning governance.
- Maintain a single operational control tower across scheduling, stock, labour and capacity.
- Deliver concise executive reporting to Directors and EMT.
- Lead root cause analysis on operational failures.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to increase throughput and reduce waste.
5. Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the Scheduling & Logistics Team.
- Recruit and onboard the remaining vacancy.
- Establish clear ownership, performance management and succession plans. Build a high-accountability culture focused on outcomes rather than activity.
6. Transformation & Scale
- Deliver consolidation of all scheduling functions within 12 months.
- Implement standardised scheduling processes, SLAs and reporting.
- Drive adoption of scheduling technologies and automation.
- Establish scalable operating rhythms capable of supporting continued growth
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience in Scheduling, Logistics, Workforce Planning, Supply Chain or Operations Leadership.
- Experience leading planning teams in field service, utilities, construction, renewables or engineering environments.
- Strong analytical and forecasting capability.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and contractors.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success delivering operational transformation and scaling programmes.
- Highly commercial mindset with a strong understanding of cost, margin and profitability drivers.
