We are looking for an experienced Groundworker to join our team, working on civil engineering and infrastructure projects throughout County Laois and surrounding counties. Works to include Water and Sewer maintenance and repairs.
The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of works, including public roadworks, utilities, drainage, road construction, footpaths and general civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general groundworks and civil engineering duties.
- Excavate and prepare trenches for utilities and drainage.
- Install drainage pipes, manholes, ducting and associated infrastructure.
- Repair works to Water & Sewer Pipework / Ducting / Infrastructure
- Assist with water, sewer, utility and service installations.
- Carry out kerbing, paving, footpath and road construction works.
- Prepare ground for concrete, tarmac and other surfaces.
- Assist excavator operators and other site personnel.
- Work safely around live public roads and existing underground services.
- Carry out reinstatement and finishing works to a high standard.
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow all site health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Groundworker on civil engineering or roadworks projects (2 years).
- Experience in drainage, utilities, roads and footpaths is highly desirable.
- Safe Pass required.
- CSCS/CSR or relevant qualifications are an advantage.
- Ability to read and understand site drawings is desirable.
- Good knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Full driving licence is an advantage.
- Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious attitude.
