Junior Electrical Estimator

TDE Group is a growing electrical contractor delivering commercial, industrial, education, fit-out and renewable energy projects.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Electrical Estimator to join our team.
This position would suit someone who already has relevant electrical, construction or estimating experience and is looking to develop their career within a growing electrical contracting business.
The Role
Working alongside our management and project teams, you will assist with the preparation, pricing and submission of electrical tenders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs and tender documentation
- Carrying out electrical quantity take-offs
- Preparing material and labour estimates
- Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Preparing BOQs and pricing schedules
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of electrical tenders
- Identifying exclusions, qualifications and potential tender risks
- Reviewing drawings and specifications to identify scope requirements
- Assisting with value engineering and alternative solutions
- Maintaining accurate tender files and pricing information
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, project managers and site teams
- Following up on submitted quotations and maintaining tender records
- Assisting with project handovers from estimating to the delivery team
As you develop within the role, you will take increasing responsibility for managing and pricing your own tenders.
Experience & Requirements
Applicants should have relevant experience within the electrical or construction industry.
Ideally, you will have one or more of the following:
- Previous experience in an electrical estimating or junior estimating role
- Electrical trade or apprenticeship background with estimating or pricing experience
- Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Services or similar qualification combined with relevant industry experience
- Experience carrying out electrical take-offs and reviewing construction drawings
- Experience working for an electrical contractor or M&E contractor
Candidates should also have:
- A good understanding of electrical installations and terminology
- Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organisational and communication skills
- A commercial approach to pricing and tendering
Salary & Progression
€30,000 – €38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop into a fully independent Electrical Estimator, taking responsibility for increasingly larger and more complex tenders as their experience develops.
There is also scope for longer-term progression into senior estimating, commercial or project management roles within TDE Group.
