E-Resources Licensing Librarian
Description:
Analog Devices’ digital library team supports informed technical and business decision-making and innovation for employees worldwide by providing online access to quality technical, business, and market intelligence research resources and services. This is a hybrid role working from ADI's Limerick or Cork office and will work closely with library team in Wilmington, MA, US and Bangalore, India.
In this new position, the E-Resources Licensing Librarian manages and advances the company’s licensed content strategy within the Library. This role leads license negotiations, supports acquisitions and renewals, ensures compliance with license terms, and partners with stakeholders across the Library, Legal, Procurement, IT, and business teams. The position also plays a key role in enabling responsible use of licensed content in emerging areas such as AI and enterprise research platforms.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Negotiate, manage, and renew licenses for electronic resources, including journals, ebooks, technical standards, and market research products
- Review and interpret license agreements; provide guidance on permitted use, including areas such as text and data mining and AI-related use
- Maintain accurate records of licenses, vendors, orders, and renewals
- Support acquisitions workflows and assist with collection development activities
- Organize and catalog (copy and original using internal taxonomy) electronic resources to ensure accurate and timely discovery
- Collaborate with vendors to address service, access, and licensing questions and to review new products
- Identify opportunities to streamline subscriptions and improve access across the organization
- Collect and analyze usage data to support evaluation of resources and inform renewal or cancellation decisions
- Contribute to the development of documentation, guidance, and best practices for use of licensed content
- Contribute to the library’s outreach and training activities (including live and online training sessions, internal conferences, video tutorials, newsletters, and surveys)
- Provide reference and research support as needed
- Stay current with developments in e-resource management, licensing, scholarly communication, and emerging technologies
- Contribute to ongoing planning and improvements in library workflows, systems, and services
- Take on projects as determined with the Library manager
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in e-resources, licensing, or collection management in a corporate or academic library (STEM preferred)
- Master’s degree in Library & Information Science or related field
- Experience negotiating or managing electronic resource licenses and working with vendors, legal, and procurement teams
- Knowledge of licensing considerations such as permitted use, perpetual access, text/data mining, and AI usage
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to balance multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a global environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, standard business tools, and navigating library databases and products
- Awareness of emerging technologies and trends in digital content, research tools, and AI
