Rigging Assistant (Warehouse-Based)
Job Overview:
The Warehouse-Based Rigging Assistant will support the rigging manager by handling equipment, materials, and logistics related to rigging operations. This role requires an individual who is organized, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Handling: Assist with the receipt, storage, and organization of rigging equipment and materials in the warehouse.
Rigging Support: Help riggers with the assembly, setup, and disassembly of rigging equipment as needed for various projects.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of rigging equipment and materials, including tracking usage and reporting any discrepancies.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Maintenance: Assist in the routine inspection and maintenance of rigging equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
Logistics Coordination: Support the logistics team with the preparation and dispatch of rigging equipment and materials for on-site projects.
Documentation: Prepare and file necessary documentation related to equipment usage, maintenance, and inventory.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with riggers, warehouse staff, and other team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in rigging or a related field is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse environment or rigging industry is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Basic understanding of rigging equipment and procedures.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and rigging tools safely.
Good physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Certifications: Forklift certification or similar is advantageous.
Environment: Primarily warehouse-based with occasional travel to job sites as needed.
Hours: Standard warehouse hours with potential for overtime or shift work depending on project requirements.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks.
