Duty Supervisor – Operations
Wexford Bus is seeking an organised, proactive and dependable Duty Supervisor to join our Operations Team, based in Drinagh, Wexford.
The Duty Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and timely operation of our bus network. Working as part of the operational team, you will maintain real-time control of services, coordinate staff and fleet resources, manage incidents and implement service recovery plans when disruption occurs.
Using the available GPS tracking, scheduling and communication systems, you will monitor service performance and make the operational adjustments required to restore normal services as quickly and safely as possible.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor the live location and performance of services using GPS tracking and scheduling systems.
- Identify and respond to delays, breakdowns, accidents, road closures and other operational issues.
- Implement service recovery plans, including adjusting services and deploying available drivers or vehicles.
- Manage daily driver duties, staff absences, operational cover, fleet allocations and other resources.
- Maintain effective communication with drivers, Customer Service, the technical team and other departments.
- Provide guidance and support to drivers during daily operations and service disruptions.
- Work closely with the technical team to ensure vehicle availability meets operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, delays, decisions and actions taken, escalating serious matters to senior management where appropriate.
- Liaise with emergency services, local authorities and other external organisations when required.
- Complete assigned administrative responsibilities, including taking a lead role in specific business functions.
- Support the fair and consistent management of employee attendance, conduct and performance.
- Support the Operation and HR functions by maintaining and providing accurate, up-to-date employee information through the company’s HR and operational systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s services, systems and procedures.

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in transport operations, logistics, scheduling, staff supervision or a control-room environment would be an advantage.
Working arrangements
This is a full-time, permanent position worked on a rostered shift basis across Monday to Sunday, including early and late shifts, weekends and public holidays. Shift patterns and working hours will vary according to the operational requirements of the business, and flexibility will be required.
The position is based on-site in our Drinagh office.
Salary: €41,000–€52,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus overtime pay where applicable.
