JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Transport Coordinator
Reporting To: Operations Manager
Job Summary: The Transport Coordinator will support the day-to-day operations of the Customer Service department, with a primary focus on coordinating customer collections. The role involves liaising with customers, drivers, depots and internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery while providing administrative and operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service
· Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries relating to collection requests.
· Respond to customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
· Investigate customer queries relating to collections, including previous collection damages.
· Provide support with general customer service enquiries as required.
Operational Support
· Plan and coordinate customer collection requests.
· Liaise with the Operations Manager regarding operational issues.
· Ensure all relevant collection documentation and information is communicated to the appropriate depots.
· Liaise with drivers and depots to ensure the efficient coordination of collections.
· Print replacement pallet labels and ensure they are available in the dispatch office for AM and PM drivers.
· Respond to driver enquiries and provide operational support where required.
Administration
· Accurately maintain and update information within internal systems.
· Provide cover for Customer Service colleagues during annual leave, breaks and other absences.
· Carry out general administrative duties.
· Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.
Experience
· Previous experience within the transport, logistics or supply chain industry.
· Experience working within a customer service, transport or operational support environment.
· Previous experience in a Coordinator or Supervisor role would be an advantage.
· Experience using transport management systems or similar internal systems.
Knowledge
· Good understanding of transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
· Ability to accurately maintain operational records and information.
Education
· Relevant industry experience
· A relevant third-level qualification.
