Kitchen Team Members – Afro-Caribbean Restaurant
Chefs, Grill Cooks, Prep Cooks & Kitchen Porters Wanted
We are looking for talented and reliable kitchen team members to join our growing Afro-Caribbean restaurant team.
We are open to speaking with candidates at different levels, from experienced chefs and grill cooks to strong prep cooks and kitchen porters. The most important thing is that you have worked in a busy sit-down restaurant environment, understand kitchen standards, and are passionate about good food.
This role would suit someone who is confident preparing, cooking, grilling, and presenting Afro-Caribbean food, or someone with strong kitchen experience who is eager to grow within this style of cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on your experience, duties may include:
- Preparing and cooking Afro-Caribbean dishes to a high standard
- Grilling meats, fish, poultry, and other menu items
- Supporting food preparation, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
- Maintaining excellent hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards
- Working closely with the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Supporting menu consistency, portion control, and presentation standards
- Assisting with washing, cleaning, and kitchen porter duties where required
- Following HACCP and food safety procedures at all times
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Previous experience working in a sit-down restaurant environment
- Experience cooking, preparing, or grilling Afro-Caribbean food
- Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
- Ability to work well under pressure during busy service
- A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong attention to detail
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy service periods
HACCP training is desirable but not essential if you have strong relevant experience.
