Role Overview:
The Loss Prevention Manager leads and develops a small team of Loss Prevention auditors, overseeing all aspects of stock loss, waste and payment controls across a multi-site retail business. The role is responsible for detecting, investigating and reporting dishonest or fraudulent activity, conducting store and support office compliance audits, managing stocktake processes, and ensuring internal procedures and Grafton Group audit requirements are implemented effectively. The Loss Prevention Manager reviews and improves operational controls, manages external security contracts, analyses loss-related data from IT systems, and provides clear reporting and recommendations to reduce loss and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, Coach and develop a small team of Loss Prevention auditors – covering all aspects of performance management, individual and team development.
- Deliver Budget performance across Stock loss, Waste and Payments by ensuring the necessary we have the necessary controls, reporting and processes in place.
- Detect, investigate & highlight any fraudulent or dishonest activities, in line with Company & legal requirements.
- Apply a constant and regular review of Store operations to ensure we maximise our ways of working in the most efficient way to meet the future business requirements.
- Ensure Grafton group Internal Audit controls, reports and recommendations are implemented in line with Group policy.
- Develop and deliver LP Store Visit Reports
- Provide statistical reports &/or information on all LP activities.
- Analysing information from all IT systems
- Conduct Store & Support office compliance audits in accordance with the LPD Strategy to ensure that procedures are operating effectively, with appropriate controls & recommend changes where necessary.
- Handle external security contracts to ensure value for money and standards of services are delivered.
- Conduct various Security checks, i.e. exit searches, staff lockers, vehicles - including delivery vehicles, ensuring compliance to procedures.
- Conduct investigations i.e. till shorts/overs & reporting findings / recommendations.
- Develop & maintain relationship with local Garda and support with case files when required.
- Develop and deliver stocktake process in line with business requirements.
- Ensure stocktake count scheduling is organised accurately & on time.
- Conduct extended inventory counts &/or stocktakes as required.
- Ensure stocktake results are provided on time to the appropriate personnel, with any inaccuracies investigated & reported.
- Conduct & report stock cleanse checks.
- Interrogating stock movements to improve data integrity & reduce losses.
- Review and evaluate internal procedures and identify any weaknesses with recommendations.
- Assist in the development of any internal audit programme to ensure that all functions are subject to systematic review.
Ideal Candidate:
- Relevant qualification combined with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a large multi-site retail business.
- Demonstrates the ability to engage with key stakeholders, influence, and gain consensus for the LP agenda.
